The Agulhas Current LME is located in the southwestern Indian Ocean, encompassing the continental shelves and coastal waters of mainland states Mozambique and eastern South Africa, as well as the archipelagos of the Comoros, the Seychelles, Mauritius and La Reunion (France). At the centre of the LME is Madagascar, the world’s fourth largest island, with an extensive coastline of more than 5000km (McKenna and Allen 2005). [Source: LME Portal http://lme.edc.uri.edu]
