Volume 6 Transboundary Water Systems: Crosscutting Status and Trends (A Summary for Policy Makers) – highlights a first global analysis to examine the present-day thematic dimensions of risk among 756 international water systems across five water categories in 14 regions of the world. It hopes to encourage subsequent assessments to quantify and monitor interactions between systems, and make these system-system linkages as salient bases for effective transboundary water management in a warming climate.
