The Arafura and Timor Seas. The Humboldt Current Large Marine Ecosystem (LME). Coastal fishing communities in Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, Indonesia, Peru and Senegal. These are only some of the places in the world where the sustainability of marine fisheries faces mounting challenges due to overfishing, habitat destruction, climate change, and illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing practices. And in the face of these challenges, collaboration, traditional knowledge, innovation, and technological advancements offer hope to revert declining trends.
