What is Governance Analysis?

Governance analysis examines key aspects of the processes of governance (political, economic, civil society) and focuses in on the dynamics of these relationships.

As discussed earlier, within the overall TDA/SAP process the main objective of the TDA is to provide the factual basis for the development of the Strategic Action Programme (SAP). Taken in isolation, the TDA focuses on scientific and technical assessments, whereas the options for strategic action require decisions and implementation by a wide range of stakeholders, both in government and outside government. This is why governance analysis is critical to the TDA/SAP process.
