This practice guide aims to help auditor plan a performance audit focusing on a central and transforming aspect of the 2030 Agenda: Gender Equality. Sustainable development is not possible without gender equality and women's empowerment. Recognizing this, the Agenda's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), includes achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls as both a stand-alone goal and a crosscutting theme that is reflected in many other goals.
