With the aim to increase our understanding of the importance, needs and benefits of conjunctive water management in national and transboundary contexts, this workshop will provide the opportunity to share good practices and lessons learned, setting the basis for cooperative approaches within a transboundary setting.

As part of the workshop, GEF IW:LEARN and UNESCO-IHP will organize a dialogue featuring GEF International Water (IW) projects which already address conjunctive management within their project design, as well as linking standalone groundwater projects with their river basin partners. The workshop also aims to enhance capacities of the GEF system in groundwater issues on topics related to data management, monitoring and isotope hydrology techniques etc. drawing on partner contributions.
