LVBC Concludes First Anti-Corruption Training for the Water Sector

Kampala, UGANDA, 27 th July 2012: The Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) has concluded the first Water Integrity Training for stakeholders in the water sector in East Africa. The one-week training, implemented in conjunction with the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), targeted 40 mid-level managers and media practitioners from the EAC Partner States.

Several modules were delivered to the participants, including water governance; corruption in the water sector; identifying corruption risks; anti-corruption laws, institutions and instruments; transparency and access to information; accountability; and integrity in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
