Announcement of Scholarships for Short Term Training Opportunities for Coastal Communities

Kenya Coastal Development Project (KCDP) is a multi-sectoral development project financed by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility, hosted by the
Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) and implemented by seven Government Agencies. The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve
management effectiveness and enhance revenue generation of Kenya’s coastal and marine resources. As part of its capacity building programme, KCDP seeks to
provide short term training scholarships to coastal students interested in pursuing a career in natural resource management. Through this programme a minimum of 30
coastal students will be admitted at the Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute (KWSTI) in Naivasha
Potential Candidates
Applicants MUST be coastal students from rural communities who have qualification for admission into any of the above craft courses. Those already in training, employment, attachment, internship, or have
previously benefited from any other KCDP support are ineligible for this scholarship.
