Africa Regional Network

Welcome

We are a network of professionals and practitioners involved in marine and coastal initiatives across the region of Africa.

In our network you will find 67 representatives from GEF-funded marine and coastal projects, biodiversity, fisheries, and climate change initiatives. You will also find those who are from non-GEF projects, academia, national ministries, NGOs, Regional Bodies or Conventions, private sector and more.

Our network currently reaches across 35 coastal countries (Angola, Benin, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Congo (Democratic Republic of), Congo (Republic of), Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Jordan, Kenya, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Sao Tome e Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Yemen).

The network is coordinated by Natalie Degger of the GEF LME:LEARN Project. The network is also supported by IOCAFRICA, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Sub-Commission for Africa and the Adjacent Island States
