The Bahamas Environment, Science & Technology (BEST) Commission was established in 1994. The BEST Commission manages the implementation of multilateral environmental agreements and reviews environmental impact assessments (EIA) and environmental management plans (EMP) for development projects within The Bahamas. As part of the Ministry of Environment and Housing, the BEST Commission works closely with various agencies to achieve the country’s goals of a comprehensive system of environmental management.
BAIC’s Mandate is to stimulate and encourage the creation, expansion and promotion of small and medium-sized Bahamian businesses and to assist those businesses in developing and enhancing profitable opportunities for Domestic and International Trade. This is done by providing research and feasibility studies, industrial land/industrial parks for lease at concessionary rates, access to development funding, access to buyer markets, and business monitoring and evaluation.
The Bahamas National Geographic Information Systems (BNGIS) Centre provides information to Bahamians about their country in the form of maps charting out things like: Subdivision maps Street maps Oil exploration maps Zoning maps Land and sea park maps Maritime boundary maps Imagery maps As a part of its public awareness strategy, the BNGIS Centre hosts GIS User Conferences, GIS Day Celebrations and GIS School Competitions annually. These events are designed to showcase the application of GIS and associated geo technologies in the workplace and in the classroom. The BNGIS Centre usually invites GIS vendors to display GIS products and services.
The Bahamas National Trust is a non-profit organisation in the Bahamas that manages the country's thirty-two national parks.[1] Its headquarters is located in New Providence at The Retreat Gardens on Village Road. The Bahamas National Trust was created by an Act of Parliament in 1959, through the efforts of two groups of conservationists.

Forestry Unit The Forestry Unit was formally established with the Forestry Act, 2010. Vision To ensure the valuable natural forest resources of the Bahamas are managed in a sustained manner, in perpetuity. Mission Guided by prudent policy and the provisions of the Forestry Act 2010 and Regulations, the forest resources of the Bahamas will be sustainably managed as a viable renewable natural resource for the benefit of The Bahamas. Mandate To develop the forest resources of the Bahamas to their maximum potential by applying sound, scientific, and sustained yield forest management principles and concepts.
