Experience and needs assessment
The “Diagnostic form for Experience sharing and Needs assessment” represents an opportunity for projects, partners, basin organizations and other stakeholders to identify:
- actions that already took place in their basin/aquifer, and that could be shared with the Community, and
- possible topics / interventions that may be explored for implementation.
Example of interventions include:
- Management of groundwater dependent ecosystems / wetlands;
- Institutional / legal provisions to integrate groundwater in River Basin management;
- Injection of excess surface water in aquifers - Managed aquifer recharge;
- Controlling groundwater level to prevent flooding.
Access the Diagnostic form here: MSWord.
A summary of the “Groundwater Clinic”, which addressed the practical needs to raise the profile of groundwater and its governance, undertaken during GEF IWC9 Conference can be found here.
