Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management

13-15 October 2025 | Geneva, Switzerland
20th meeting of the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and the 20th meeting of the Working Group on Monitoring and Assessment under the Water Convention will be held as a joint meeting on 13–15 October 2025 in Geneva.

IW:LEARN Project Coordinator Konstantina Toli will participate in the 20th meeting of the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and the 20th meeting of the Working Group on Monitoring and Assessment under the UNECE convention.

The meeting will bring together government representatives, joint bodies, international organizations, and experts from across the globe to review the implementation of the Water Convention’s 2025–2027 work programme, discuss progress in its global application, and follow up on the outcomes of the 10th Meeting of the Parties (Ljubljana, 2024).

Participants will also take part in a thematic session on preventing and mitigating plastic pollution in transboundary basins, a key topic linking freshwater and ocean health.

Representing the GEF International Waters community, IW:LEARN will contribute insights on knowledge sharing, financing, and strengthening transboundary cooperation: key pillars for advancing sustainable water governance worldwide.
