Mid-Term Review of the UNEP/GEF project Reduction of Environmental Impact from Tropical Shrimp Trawling through the Introduction of By-catch Reduction Technologies and Change of Management

This report presents the findings and recommendations of the mid-term review – carried out in October-December 2006 – of the global project Reduction of Environmental Impact from Tropical Shrimp Trawling through the Introduction of By-catch Reduction Technologies and Change of Management (the REBYC-project). The project has a total budget of US$9 150 000 and a duration of six years (June 2002-June 2008). It is implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), executed by Fisheries Department of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and co-funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), FAO and the twelve participating countries.
