Children visualize the importance of water

The Kura II Project, funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized an online art competition dedicated to the 2020 Earth Day celebration, in partnership with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the UNDP Country Offices Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as NGO Environment and Development and Arts Council of Azerbaijan.The themes for the competition covered various aspects of water-related issues such as “water conservation,” “water pollution,” “water in life,” ‘water cycle,” “water and climate change”. A total of 129 participants between 6 to 17 years from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, China and India submitted their art works. The winners in each age category were selected by seven high-level jury members.The participants were awarded with certificates while the art works as well as videos of the winners are continuously being promoted by Kura II project on its social media channels. On 05 May 2020, the Project launched an online exhibition on its social media channels.
