Report on the Strategic Action Program (SAP) for the River Niger Basin

This report is one of the major results of the implementation of the Project "Reversing Land andWater Degradation Trends in the Niger Basin” (Preject RLWDT/NB) funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). Project was designed in the focal area of GEF’s International Water and falls under GEF Operational Program 9, Integrated Land and Water Multiple Focal Area. It is a regional project covering nine countries members of the Niger Basin Authority: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger and Nigeria. To be participatory and take into consideration the essential concerns of all stakeholders, the development of the Strategic Action Program (SAP) for the environment of the Niger river. Basin, process has been initiated since 2006. In this process, technical teams at national and regional levels were formed to support the different stages of the said process..
