Job Posting: Internship in Conservation Finance in Sustainable Fisheries

Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is looking for an intern in Eschborn (near Frankfurt) in the field of conservation finance for the period 01.04.-30.09.2019.

In 2018, GIZ and Credit Suisse formed the Strategic Alliance on Conservation Finance for Sustainable Fisheries (STA CF). The STA is part of the develoPPP.de programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). GIZ implements the project on behalf of the Ministry. The Coalition for Private Investment in Conservation (CPIC) supports the Strategic Alliance with its expertise. The Strategic Alliance is to facilitate private investment in conservation projects in the fishery sector in Indonesia and Mexico. In both countries, the fishery sector plays a significant role in economic development and ecosystem stability. Working with the Coalition for Private Investment in Conservation (CPIC), the strategic partners support local counterparts such as fishers, fishery cooperatives, small-scale businesses and NGOs in two pilot projects. With technical assistance from experts in sustainable fishery, conservation finance, and organizational development, the projects are supported in developing sustainable and robust business and financial models that have a clear conservation benefit.
