IW:LEARN ICT Workshop - World Water
Forum, Istanbul, Turkey, March 2009
IW:LEARN is organising a ICT training mini-workshop (comprising two four hour sessions) to be held at the next World Water Forum in Turkey. The purpose of this workshop is to assist projects in creating and managing a project website using the freely available IW:LEARN Toolkit. In addition, related ICT subjects such as GIS and content syndication will be discussed. Resulting from Pollution of the Marine Environment: MAP Works on
Guidelines on Liability and Compensation
On
22 and 23 January, legal and technical experts met in Athens, Greece at
the third meeting of the Working Group on the implementation of the
Guidelines for the Determination of Liability and Compensation for
Damage Resulting from Pollution of the Marine Environment in the
Mediterranean Sea Area.
The PEMSEA Network of Local Governments for Sustainable Coastal Development (PNLG), which held its seventh annual forum in Sihanoukville, Cambodia on 19-21 November 2008, tackled water resources protection, utilization and management issues and challenges at the local government level.
Climate Change Adaptation Strategies for Coasts and Oceans
An Experts' Forum held at the Philippines' Senate brought together academia, policymakers, government officials, non-governmental entities and other stakeholders to examine issues, priorities and strategies relating to climate change adaptation.

The East African Community (EAC) through the Lake Victoria Basin
Commission (LVBC) Secretariat is coordinating the implementation of the
2nd Phase of the Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project (LVEMP
II) which will be implemented in all the five EAC Partner States
(Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda) for a period of eight

Applications are invited for the
position of
Communications Adviser to be based within the Community Lifelines
Programme of the Secretariat of the Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience
Commission (SOPAC), located in Suva, Fiji Islands. The Communications
Adviser will be required to work closely and cooperatively with Project
and Programme Advisers to execute the communications strategies for the
two regional programmes; the Pacific IWRM National Planning Programme
and the Pacific HYCOS Project.
