New Waste Tanks
The Serbia Danube River Enterprise Pollution Reduction Project (DREPR) funded the construction of the first three slurry tanks, which commenced recently. Five beneficiaries of the farms-project also received waste handling and spreading equipment.
NOWPAP CEARAC New Activities in 2008-2009
On 6-8 March 2008, the 6th Focal Points Meeting of CEARAC (Coastal Environmental Assessment Regional Activity Center of NOWPAP) has been held in Toyama, Japan. In conjunction with the Focal Points Meeting (FPM), the First Coastal Environmental Assessment Workshop was organized on 7 March.

Vacancies and Requests for Proposals
Project Coordinator - Partnership Interventions for the Implementation of the Strategic Action Programme for Lake Tanganyika. Deadline 12 June 2008. The Project Coordinator (PC) shall be responsible for the overall coordination of all aspects of the UNDPGEF Project, “Partnership Interventions for the Implementation of the Strategic Action Programme for Lake Tanganyika”in general. In particular, he/she shall liaise directly with designated officials of the Participating Countries, Members of the PSC, the Implementing Agency, the Executing Agency, UNDP Country Offices, existing and potential additional project donors, National Project Manager for each country, who is responsible for the implementation of project activities at national level, and others as deemed appropriate and necessary by the Lake Tanganyika Management Committee (LTMC) or by the PC him/her self.
