	Online African Marine Atlas The African Marine Atlas provides substantial maps, images, data and information to coastal resource managers, planners and decision-makers from various administrative institutions and specialized agencies in Africa.

Project News

Now Available: Draft Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis of Land-based Sources and Activities in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) Region.
In terms of geographical scope, this TDA covers the shared waters of the WIO (including river basins and catchments) of the eight WIO-LaB project countries, namely: Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, the East Coast of South Africa, and Tanzania.

On 24 September 2008, a “Declaration concerning common approaches to water management, flood protection, hydropower utilization and nature and biodiversity conservation in the Drava River Basin” was adopted by participants at the “Drava River Vision Symposium” in Maribor, Slovenia.

ASCLME FAO EAF-Nansen 2008 Cruise Blog
The GEF/UNDP Agulhas and Somali Current Large Marine Ecosystems (ASCLME) Project conducts research cruises around the region to fill gaps in our understanding of ecosystem-level processes which affect sustainable management decisions.

Water Policy Adviser (WWF-UK) Closing date: 2 January 2009
The Water Policy Adviser will be part of an innovative team that seeks to reframe the debate on management of water, to encourage sustainable water footprints and to safeguard iconic freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity. Specifically, the candidate will encourage large UK and EU-based businesses to address the most harmful impacts of their water footprints and to support public policy that promotes better water management across the world.
