The GWP ToolBox comprises an organized collection of case studies, reference documents, external web sites and other supporting materials in water resources management, which have been submitted by various contributors and have been peer reviewed.

Virtual Ocean - A New Data Visualisation Tool
Virtual Ocean is a new mapping application developed by the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. It integrates the  GeoMapApp tool suite with the  NASA World Wind 3-D earth browser.

Download Species Distribution Grids from SEDAC Website
This website  provides a search facility for quickly locating and downloading 1-kilometer (30 arc-second) resolution grids of the distribution of species. Data are available for global amphibian distributions, and for birds and mammals in the Americas.

Launch of Website on Groundwater and Drought Management Issues for the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Region
The SADC Groundwater and Drought Management Project is pleased to announce the launch of its website, www.sadc-groundwater.org, a site aimed at increasing awareness and sharing of information on groundwater and drought management issues in the SADC region.

Agreement on provision of hydrological information renewed by China and Mekong River Commission (MRC)
China and the countries of the Mekong River Commission (MRC) have arranged to build on their existing relations by renewing an agreement to share data on flood season water flows in the Lancang-Mekong River.

Lessons Learned in Habitat and Land-Based Pollution Management in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand
A range of lessons learned from the UNEP/GEF South China Sea Project’s network of coastal habitat demonstration sites and pollution pilot activities were identified in 2007 as being worthy of documentation for sharing between and among other projects

The 27th Nile Technical Advisory Committee meeting ends with Entebbe-Key decisions
Among key decisions included: proposed institutional design studies; Nile Basin Sustainability Framework and contribution of Shared Vision Projects (SVP); SVP closing/ extension of UNOPS Management Support Service; and preparation for 6th Nile Basin Trust Fund - Committee (NBTF–C) informal meeting.

South China Sea National Publications
A large number of national language reports and publications were produced as part of the South China Sea Project. These outputs are a valuable information resource on mangroves, coral reefs, seagrass, wetlands, fisheries, and land-based pollution in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand.

Technical Adviser: Environmental Officer (Lake Tanganyika Project) (Closing date: 23 November 2008) The TA Environment will work through the LTA in close liaison with the National Agencies and the Inter-ministerial Committees to ensure the effective implementation of the UNDP/GEF project. The TA Environment will provide the senior technical expertise and leadership for the Program stakeholders in Land and Water protection components of the Lake Tanganyika Integrated Management Program.

IT Consultant - Development of a GEF-IWCAM Clearing House Mechanism IWCAM (Closing date: 14 November 2008) In line with the GEF-IWCAM Project’s goal to promote the IWCAM approach and provide access to information and resources on IWCAM, even after the Project has been completed, the PCU is seeking to create a CHM which will be openly accessible through the internet and which is part of its Project Information Management System (PIMS). This CHM will serve the dual function of creating a window (information platform) for the GEF-IWCAM Project and its activities to the outside world, and will also be a gateway to information and resources on the IWCAM approach.
