ASCLME East Madagascar Current Cruise Report 2008

This survey is the first survey of the GEF funded “Agulhas and Somali Current Large Marine Ecosystem” (ASCLME) project. The survey is conducted jointly with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) Nansen Programme. It has been more than 25 years since the first visit of the previous “Dr. Fridtjof Nansen” in Madagascar. The former “Dr. Fridtjof Nansen”, decommissioned in 1993, surveyed the fish resources and environmental conditions of the Malagasy waters in June 1983 covering the south and east coast only.
