The information contained herein was collected from archival documents and interviews with many principals and department heads and representatives of NGOs. We thank the many people who supported us in this complex undertaking by providing their invaluable contribution. We would like to show them our appreciation and our gratitude. The MEDA is a national contribution to the multinational Transboundary Diagnostic Analyses (TDA) - Strategic Action Programme (SAP) process, and was funded and supported by the Agulhas and Somali Current Large Marine Ecosystems Project (which is funded by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme).
