Visualization Tool
- GEF IW Portfolio Visualization Tool
-
The tool is a global map on which the viewer can overlay selected layers to display the impacts and interventions of the GEF IW portfolio. The Portfolio Visualization Tool is able to show portfolio level impacts and project locations. In time, it will also show selected important basin trends in the impacts the projects interventions are having on them.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The portfolio visualization uses a choice of Open Source geo-mapping tools (select by clicking the “+”) to show where the GEF IW projects are located. The user can select the desired layers (such as ecosystem type, GEF Agency, Project Status, with/without project) from the display panel on the right side of the map to present on the global map. When a user clicks on a pin or boundary, either a list of project titles or a project title with a description of the project will be displayed onscreen. The complete project title and a description with a link to in-depth details will also be displayed just below the map on the same page.
WHAT DATA IS USED?
Data for the tool is derived from Project Websites. The map is provided by a choice of open source tools. The Visualization tool will use data from project submissions of the GEF IW Tracking Tool to show basin level trends
