Contributions to Global and Regional Agreements (2002)
This study was undertaken in preparation for the 2002 Program Study on International Waters. It provides an assessment of the GEF contributions to global and regional agreements to protect and restore international waters. The study concludes that, through the adoption of an ecosystem approach and by fostering regional arrangements in which countries can consider both individual and collective causes and effects, the GEF has contributed to the many international agreements.
