A key goal of the iMarine initiative is to support stakeholders in a sustainable use of the marine ecosystem. iMarine has developed a powerful data infrastructure to address the challenges of fisheries management and the conservation of living marine resources, which is fundamental to the ecosystem approach.
A key goal of the iMarine initiative is to support stakeholders in a sustainable use of the marine ecosystem. iMarine has developed a powerful data infrastructure to address the challenges of fisheries management and the conservation of living marine resources, which is fundamental to the ecosystem approach. iMarine is co-locating with the Fishery Dependent Information 2014 international conference to show a set of practical solutions, demonstrating how the Ecosystem Approach related information (and not only) can be collaboratively managed, shared, and analyzed in secure and very cost-effective applications. The morning session will present the iMarine solutions for fishery and biodiversity communities, while the afternoon session will look towards developing a collaborative exploitation model.
