As the world celebrates World Water Day 2014 on 22nd March under the theme 'Water and Energy', the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) would like to join the UN System - in bringing its attention to the water-energy nexus, particularly with respect to the Nile Basin region. Indeed the theme is very much related to the one chosen by NBI for this year's annual Nile Day celebrations held on 22nd February which was 'Water and Energy: National Challenges, Trans-boundary Solutions.
