Management of fishing capacity, which is a key element in fisheries management, focuses not only on the management of “fish” but also in regulating the fishing effort by developing some schemes to give direction on where and how to fish, total number of vessels allowed to fish, and type of gear to be used (or not to be used) in fishing.
