Short Courses from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education

Short courses at UNESCO-IHE include regular short courses, tailor-made training, and online courses. All these courses are aimed at giving the participants infomation on a specific subject in a relatively short time.
UNESCO-IHE offers a wide range of short, intensive and highly specialised courses for mid-career and senior experts who wish to upgrade and refresh their knowledge and skills. The short courses are held in Delft and vary in length from one to four weeks. They also vary in focus and content, ranging from specialised technical issues, to management challenges and approaches.

UNESCO-IHE offers high-quality online courses in an increasing number of topics of interest in the water sector. The innovative delivery format makes learning exciting, flexible, interactive and effective.  A typical course covers a four-month period, and requires around eight hours of study per week (total study load 140 hours).

UNESCO-IHE tailor-made training is designed for clients whose staff require tuition on specific topics or seek to develop a common knowledge base to address future challenges. The focus of the courses may be technical, managerial, strategic or operational, depending on the client’s priorities. Courses can be organized for groups of various sizes, from one or several organizations, sectors or regions. They can be designed to upgrade knowledge and skills, to introduce new technologies, or to strengthen sector performance, to name but a few options.
