A Network of Networks: Email Lists, Nature Protection and Pollution Control
This report recommends best practices for establishing successful listservs and explores the parallels between this network of networks and newer online communities like Digg, YouTube, Flickr, and blogs.
This report has three purposes:
- To recommend a set of best practices that nature protection and
pollution control organizations can use today to
establish successful email lists.
- To explore the dynamics of environmental online communities and reveal how active email list users cross-pollinate otherwise independent groups.
- To orient nature protection and pollution control experts to the similarities between these familiar online communities and next-generation online communities like Digg, YouTube, blogs, and Flickr.
