Web Communications & IT Officer (Global Water Partnership)

The position serves the entire GWP network by developing and overseeing the organisation’s web presence to ensure that web technology enhances the GWP mission and serves the GWP Secretariat by planning and implementing the use of information technology to improve efficiency and productivity. Based in the Communications group, the incumbent is expected to have both strong technical capacity and interpersonal communication skills, and works in close collaboration with all staff of the GWP secretariat. Scope of Work:

Reporting to the Head of Communications, the position encompasses the following main duties:

  1. Webmaster for GWP websites
  2. Manage the IT needs of GWP with the Application Service Provider (ASP)
  3. Coordinate the electronic document handling system

Qualifications:

  • Relevant education as webmaster or equivalent experience, and adequate IT knowledge
  • At least three years work experience from:
    - web editing and design programs, programming languages such as SQL and HTML, content development, web publishing, information architecture, and browser-platform compatibility issues.
    - experience or familiarity with Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Adobe Photoshop, and content management systems.
    - software programs such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and document management.
  • High level of proficiency to independently plan, organise and carry out work tasks within deadlines.
  • Service oriented work style, with ability to work effectively and harmoniously at all levels in an international team
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Swedish language skills an advantage.
