Coral Cay Conservation Project Scientist
Minimum requirements:
Relevant post graduate qualification in marine or terrestrial biology
Scuba diving certification, minimum of Advanced Open Water (AOW).
2-4 weeks of marine tropical fieldwork experience
Please note all expedition staff must be Criminal Records Bureau (Enhanced) checked and passed for working with young people before expedition departure.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Co-ordination of research, including the management and guidance of the SO and volunteers.
- Answering questions from volunteers
- Training volunteers within the skills development programme
- Planning strategies of research on a daily to six monthly basis, in close collaboration with he CCC staff
- Providing a weekly report to Head Office
- Completing a biannual report in collaboration with Head Office
- Management and maintenance of scientific equipment
- Maintenance of science equipment inventories and requesting re-supplies
- Regular trips to meet the representatives from collaborating operations
- Representing CCC at Technical Committee meetings
- Providing environmental awareness lectures at local schools and institutes
- Supporting the EL and other expedition staff with general admin where possible
