An Evaluation of Opportunities for the Use of Geotermal Energy for Guarani
This report is presented pursuant to the Agreement executed on the 24th April, 2001 between the
Organisation of American States, Washington D.C., USA (OAS) and Petroleum Geology Investigators/
v Lars Tallbacka, Copenhagen, Denmark (Consultant). In accordance with the Agreement
Consultant performed a mission in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay during the
2nd-12th May, 2001 with the primary purpose to assess the technical basis upon which geothermal
development(s) could be pursued as well as to acquire an understanding of the institutional
and policy issues that need to be addressed in connection with such development.
