In January 2002 we held our 3rd Global Task Force meeting in Goa, India. This offered an opportunity to assess the achievements of the
six Pilot Countries, to identify shortcomings and to plan future activities. The meeting benefited from the participation of high ranking
officials from the Government of India, the Chairman of the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee and experts from the shipping industry and international environmental NGOs. The meeting prompted extensive media coverage that proved the efficiency of the successful awareness campaign conducted by India.
