The Regional Network of Local Governments implementing integrated coastal management (RNLG) was formally established by participating local government units (LGUs) in PEMSEA ICM demonstration/ parallel sites during the first forum meeting of the regional network on 15-16 March 2001 in Seoul, RO Korea, hosted by the Korean Government. Current members include the local governments of Bali, Indonesia; Batangas and Bataan, Philippines; Chonburi, Thailand; Danang, Vietnam; Klang, Malaysia; Nampo, DPR Korea; Sihanoukville, Cambodia; Shihwa, RO Korea; and Xiamen, China. The RNLG was formed to facilitate the sharing of information, experiences and lessons learned among the participating governments in the implementation of ICM programs. The network also promotes inter-site cooperation and mutual assistance.
