MENARID Participatory Control of Desertification and Poverty Reduction in the Arid and Semi Arid High Plateau Ecosystems of Eastern Morocco

Project Logo
The developmental objective of the baseline project is to protect pastoral resources in the arid and semi arid high plateaus of Morocco while improving the rural livelihoods of the poor. The global objective is to combat desertification, mitigate the impacts of land degradation, and conserve natural ecosystem integrity of Rangelands of the Eastern Region of Morocco. This will be achieved through enhancing institutional capacity of the GOM and developing an enabling policy environment for SLM through legislation and other policies; improving institutional and administrative capacities of local Rangeland User Associations; and accelerate adoption of improved technical interventions for SLM.
