Jan 28, 2015 China-PEMSEA Sustainable Coastal Management Center Launched
Qingdao, PR China – The China-PEMSEA Sustainable Coastal Management Cooperation Center was established in the First Institute of Oceanography (FIO) of the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) in Qingdao, Shandong Province of PR China last 9 December 2014. Mr. Chen Lianzeng, Vice Administrator of the SOA of China launched the Center after the agreement was signed by Mr. Stephen Adrian Ross, Executive Director of PEMSEA, and Dr. Zhang Haiwen, Director General of International Cooperation of State Oceanic Administration of China.
Nov 20, 2014 Batangas Partners with De La Salle Lipa to Operationalize the Province's Integrated Information Management System
PEMSEA News Batangas, Philippines — In an effort to establish and operationalize the Province's integrated information management system (IIMS), a decision-support system for coastal and marine and river basin management, the Province of Batangas through the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources (PG-ENRO) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with De La Salle Lipa and PEMSEA in March 2014, coinciding with the Batangas Environment Summit (BEST) 2014.

In an effort to foster synergy and collaboration among implementers of nutrient loading and ecosystem modeling efforts in the Manila Bay watershed, a technical workshop to discuss the scope, expected outputs, challenges and way forward was held on 10 April 2014 at the PEMSEA Resource Facility with representation from various research and computer modeling projects in the Bay.

The 6th East Asian Seas Partnership Council was held at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Conference Center, Makati, Philippines from 23 to 25 June 2014. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of the Philippines co-hosted the Meeting. The Meeting was attended by representatives from 10 countries, 11 representatives from regional organizations, the PEMSEA Network of Local Governments, scientific and technical institutions and business networks, as well as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Bank.

PEMSEA News Quezon City, Philippines — PEMSEA welcomes Mr. Rodante Corpuz as the new Information Technology (IT) Specialist for the PEMSEA Resource Facility (PRF). Mr. Corpuz will be primarily responsible for ensuring the optimal operations of the PRF's IT services. Manila, Philippines — Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam officially adopted the Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) Atlas for the Gulf of Thailand, which was developed to guide effective planning and oil spill response in the region.
