Preparation of the Sava River Basin Management Plan 2004 – 2006
The UNDP-GEF Danube Regional Project supports the development of a pilot plan for the Sava River
Basin as a model for river basin management planning in line with the EU Water Framework
Directive. In this context, the project shall define concepts for common approaches and
methodologies, standards and guidelines to be applied in the regional context, and formulate
recommendations for implementation strategies and program of measures likely to be effective in the
transboundary context.
