The Fond D’or watershed, Saint Lucia’s GEFIWCAM Demonstration Project site, is considered an ideal location to develop and test compensation for environmental services (CES), a creative and novel approach to integrated watershed and coastal areas management. The project is being executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (MAFF), through both a Project Steering Committee
(PSC) for oversight and a Project Management Unit (PMU) which oversees day-to-day implementation within the Project’s geographical area. The PMU is also guided by the Fond D’or Watershed Management Committee (WMC) established by the GEF-IWCAM Demonstration Project (see below).
