- This year’s observance of World Water Day seeks to remind us of the limited supply of water available globally and more so within parts of our region. It reminds us that we cannot take for granted that water will always be available to support our existence.

IWCAM-January 2007 bulletin
- This bulletin is designed primarily to keep our stakeholders informed of the progress being made with project implementation, from the standpoints of both the region and the demonstration projects. It will be one of many forms of project outreach and will encourage the sharing of information among participating countries as well as with the wider community. A longer format newsletter to be published quarterly will provide more detailed information and have wider reach.

IWCAM Caribbean WaterWays vol 1 issue 2- June 2007 newsletter
- The IWCAM National Demonstration Project for Trinidad and Tobago: Land-Use Planning and Watershed Restoration in the Courland Watershed and Buccoo Reef Area, on the island of Tobago, is one of the more advanced GEFIWCAM demonstration projects. In this article Sandra Timothy, Demonstration Project Manager, gives some background to the project and shares their experience so far.

IWCAM-April 2007 bulletin
- In December 2006 the Caribbean Environmental Health Institute (CEHI) and the United Nations Environment Programme Caribbean Regional Coordinating Unit (UNEP-CAR/ RCU), under the auspices of the Integrating Watershed and Coastal Area Management (IWCAM) Project, convened a meeting of the IWRM Informal Working Group in Kingston, Jamaica. This resulted in a collaborative effort which aims to provide assistance to governments in the region to accelerate the achievement of the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation target of Integrating Water Resources Management and Efficiency Plans by 2005; in particular, ensuring that environmental aspects and public participation are adequately incorporated in the roadmaps and plans produced.

IWCAM-July 2007 bulletin
- The GEF-funded Integrating Watershed and Coastal Areas Management in Caribbean Small Island Developing States (IWCAM) Project has among its objectives: raising public awareness of the problems existing within our watersheds and of the importance of an integrated approach to management; promoting public participation in decision-making; and, minimizing the harmful impacts of specific human behaviours.

IWCAM Caribbean WaterWays vol 1 issue 4- December 2007 Newsletter
- The Fond D’or watershed, Saint Lucia’s GEFIWCAM Demonstration Project site, is considered an ideal location to develop and test compensation for environmental services (CES), a creative and novel approach to integrated watershed and coastal areas management. The project is being executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (MAFF), through both a Project Steering Committee (PSC) for oversight and a Project Management Unit (PMU) which oversees day-to-day implementation within the Project’s geographical area. The PMU is also guided by the Fond D’or Watershed Management Committee (WMC) established by the GEF-IWCAM Demonstration Project (see below).

IWCAM Caribbean WaterWays vol 2 issue 1- March 2008 Newsletter
- The lack of basic environmental statistics and indicators is considered a major problem in the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) of the Caribbean. Indicators, which are quantitative or qualitative statements or measured/observed parameters that can be used to describe existing situations and measure changes or trends over time, are important in determining success in the integration of watershed and coastal area management and the resulting improvement of the environment and associated livelihoods.

GEF-IWCAM Final Project Conference: Summary
