The Wetlands Restoration and Pollution Reduction Project of the Global Environmental Facility/World Bank and the Ministry of Environment and Waters focuses on two protected areas – the wetlands of Persina Nature Park and the Kalimok/ Brushlen Protected Site. An
integral part of the project are actions related to public outreach, building of environmental awareness on local and national level, and support for local business initiatives, predominantly related to nature-friendly agriculture and ecotourism.
