February 2008 in
the entire Niger basin with an extreme low
flow recorded in the Upper Niger basin. For
example at Koulikoro (Fig 1) the flow recorded
was lower than that recorded in 1985, the
lowest flow record. This situation was due to
the low releases from the Selingue and
Markala dams upsteream and was not as a
result rainfall runoffs during the last wet
season upstream.
