DESCRIPTION:Since the Congress will be held in Europe\, the leading th
 eme on ' Groundwater quality sustainability' is linked with implementa
 tion of the EU Water Framework Directive. The year 2010 is the time wh
 en the formulation of programmes aimed at preventing further deteriora
 tion of groundwater quality in EU Member States must be completed.\n\n
 The Congress is aimed at scientists\, researchers\, students\, enginee
 rs\, water resources specialists\, consultants\, officials\, governmen
 t administrators and educators\, and those interested in groundwater a
 nd the environment. It will enable them tto exchange ideas\, knowledge
 \, experience\, techniques and the know-how in studies\, investigation
 s and practical applications related to groundwater issues. An importa
 nt task of the Congress will be to communicate more effectively with t
 he general public and non-groundwater specialists.
