Learning objectives

Young and mid-career professionals from different academic background with a broad range of interest in the field of water resources planning.

Successful participants will be able to evaluate, participate in and guide mulit-disciplinary water resources planning activities applying planning techniques and water resources system analytical methodologies. Special attention will be paid to the economic concepts in water resources planning in order to allow technical professionals to communicate successfully with economists on the issues involved. Additional information

The programme consists of lecture hours, exercises and case studies from a multitude of countries and field-trips. The first week concerns the conduct of an inter-active roleplay on IWRM for different institutional settings. Next to the about 80 scheduled contact hours, there is time for self-study and guidance from UNESCO-IHE’s academic staff.
