GMSTEC 2010: International Conference for a Sustainable Greater Mekong Subregion
Covering over 2.3 million square kilometers and approximately 240 million people live within, the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) is a vast area of enormous wealth and variety of natural resources. The lands of the GMS combined comprise a well balance of rich agricultural bases from timber to fisheries, as well as growing new economy and industrialization expanding from Cambodia to Yunnan Province in the People’s Republic of China. With the abundance in human and natural resources, the Mekong region creates itself a new frontier and great potential for Asian economic growth.
