GEF 3rd Biennial International Waters Conference
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) held its Third Biennial International Waters Conference, June 20-25, 2005 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, to review GEF?s global International Waters portfolio (nearly $3 billion total), share successes and experiences, and encourage collaboration across the International Waters portfolio. <p> The primary objective of the conference is to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration between participating governments, GEF International Waters projects, GEF Implementing and Executing Agencies, donor partners, and the private and non-profit sectors.<p> <b>PARTICIPANTS</b><p> This invitation only conference will feature senior representatives from the GEF Secretariat, Implementing Agencies (UNDP, UNEP, World Bank), Executing Agencies, funding partners, GEF International Waters (IW) Project Managers and Regional Sea and River Conventions. Also in attendance will be ministerial level participants from many of the over 130 countries participating in GEF?s International Waters portfolio.
