E-learning course on “Water Footprint: Concept and Application”

The World Bank Institute (WBI) in collaboration with the Water Footprint Network (WFN) and University of Twente of the Netherlands is launching an e-learning course on "Water Footprint: Concept and Application". This on-line course (in English) will be launched through the learning platform of WBI e-Institute. It combines online self-study modules with facilitated online discussion and Q&A with experts.

International Conference on Traditional Knowledge for Water Resources Management

The impacts are also far to predict and hard to cope with. Amongst all impacts, food security and equitable access to fresh water resources are major challenges in which it is estimated that, within 25 years, two thirds of the world’s inhabitants will live in countries with serious water problems.

CBD Caribbean and Mid-Atlantic Regional Workshop to Facilitate the Description of Ecologically or Biologically Significant Marine Areas

This workshop is organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Caribbean Environment Programme. It will review relevant scientific data compiled through the CBD repository system of ecologically or biologically significant marine areas (EBSAs) and other credible, quality-controlled sources; describe EBSAs through application of scientific criteria for EBSAs (Decision IX/20) and other relevant criteria; and identify gaps and needs for further elaboration in describing EBSAs.
