E-learning course on “Water Footprint: Concept and Application”

The World Bank Institute (WBI) in collaboration with the Water Footprint Network (WFN) and University of Twente of the Netherlands is launching an e-learning course on "Water Footprint: Concept and Application". This on-line course (in English) will be launched through the learning platform of WBI e-Institute. It combines online self-study modules with facilitated online discussion and Q&A with experts.

Objective

Introduce the concepts of water footprint and virtual water; discuss potential applications in water savings through trade; present why a business would want to conduct a corporate water footprint assessment, and how to do so.

Course structure

The participants are required to go through the basic contents of the 4 modules by online self-study (3 hours). During the course, an online Q&A forum will be available for participants to raise questions directly to the experts and course facilitator. Discussion topics will be posted on the forum to lead participants to explore more contents and share their opinions with peers and experts. A topic will be posted every 2-3 days for participants to discuss. During the course period, participants are expected to devote 8 hours in total to complete this course.
