Melanie has 20 years’ experience in administration and project management, with the past 12 years spent working on natural resource management programs. She has been responsible for the management of numerous research and project teams covering multifaceted and complex terrestrial, coastal and marine issues. During this time she has worked with multiple stakeholders to achieve practical solutions to issues, and to transfer scientific findings into usable on-ground outcomes.
Prior to her position as the GCI’s Deputy Director, Melanie was for five years the Executive Officer of a Global Environment Facility/World Bank project focusing on coral reefs across the world. During her time as a project manager she has worked in Australia, Cook Islands, the Maldives, the Philippines, Mexico and Zanzibar.
Melanie is currently undertaking her PhD looking at future scenarios for food security and the likely impacts in the Asia-Pacific region.
