THE GEF IWC5 PHOTO CONTEST IS UNFORTUNATELY CANCELED!
From Ridge to Reef: The GEF IWC5 2009 Photo Contest
The International Waters Focal Area - Global Environment Facility
(GEF) IWC5 2009 Photo Contest was an effort to create awareness on all
the different ways in which we can help to protect our planet, the GEF
was looking for photos that portray human effort to protect our
environment and mitigate and adapt to the changing climate.
The photos will be divided in three categories:
1. People and Water: How does water impact our lifestyle and
work or vice versa?
2. Biodiversity and Water: How do human interventions affect the
flora and fauna that exists in close vicinity to watersystems?
3. Climate Variability and Water: This is a broader category.
The subject is open and the picture can portray people, landscapes,
animals, vegetation, technology that can communicate the concept of
interlinkage between water and mitigation and/or adapting to a changing
climate.
While there was insufficient interest this time around...please do
continue to share your photos via iwc5@iwlearn.org if you would like to
add them to a future GEF IW photo gallery.
